Team roles, invites and permissions in depth

Team members log in to your shop with their own account. What they can see and do depends on their role. Manage it in Settings, then Team (the page is titled Roles & Permissions). The Team tab needs a plan that includes team members.

The built-in roles

  • Owner: full access, including billing. Only the person who created the account holds it.
  • Manager: everything day to day, and can view settings, integrations and the team list. No billing or team changes.
  • Front Desk: the calendar, leads, customers, quotes and invoices, and can view messages and files.
  • Technician: the calendar and jobs, and can view customers, messages, files and inventory.
  • Marketing: automations and messages, leads and files, and can view customers and reports.
  • Setup Specialist: settings, services, the Price Book, inventory, integrations, automations and files, and can view customers, leads, invoices and the calendar.

Invite a team member

  1. Click Invite Member.
  2. Enter their Email Address and pick a Role. A short description of the role appears under the form.
  3. Click Send Invite. They get an email with a link. New people set a name and password; people who already use Wrapstart sign in and can then switch between shops from the account menu.

Invites last 7 days. Under Pending Invitations, Resend sends it again and gives another 7 days, Copy link lets you send it any way you like, and Cancel withdraws it.

Important

An invite link lets whoever opens it join your shop with that role. Only send it to the person you invited.

Change a role or remove someone

Under Active Members, open the ⋮ menu next to a person. Pick a new role under Change Role and confirm, or choose Remove from team. Changes apply the next time their app loads.

Edit what a role can do

  1. Under Role Permissions, pick the role at the top.
  2. Click a group, such as Core Operations or Sales & Finance, to open it. Each area has View, Create, Edit and Delete boxes. Click an area's name to tick or clear all four.
  3. Under Quotes, Override deposit requirements lets the role change or remove the shop's default deposit on a quote.
  4. Click Save Changes, or Reset to undo your edits.

Who can do what here

  • Only the Owner can invite people, change roles, remove members and edit role permissions.
  • Nobody can change their own role.
  • Some settings stay with the Owner whatever the role: email sending from your own domain, phone and texting logins, Marketing Tags and getting a Wrapstart number.
