This is general information, not legal advice. Check the rules where you and your customers are.
When a customer asks not to be recorded
- Turn on Do not record calls on the customer (under Calls in their contact information) or the lead (in Details). From then on, no call with them is recorded or transcribed, the call screen shows Not recorded, and the AI Receptionist doesn't take their call; it rings your phone instead.
- If someone asks during a call, press Stop recording. Recording stops at once, and the call notes when and who stopped it.
Consent for AI and automated calls
A call or voicemail from the AI assistant counts as an artificial voice under US law (the TCPA). Informational calls, like reminders and callbacks, need the person's consent. Anything that sells needs written consent.
Each customer and lead has AI & automated calls (under Calls or Details): No consent on file, Express (informational calls) or Written (marketing calls too). Wrapstart keeps a record of who set it, when and with what wording. Add the AI call consent checkbox to a lead form, and a ticked box records written consent by itself. AI calls and voicemail drops won't go to someone without consent, and say why.
Common questions
#### Can I keep my current business number?
Yes, if it's with Twilio, RingCentral or Quo: connect it. See Use a number you already have. Numbers can't be moved into Wrapstart.
#### Why do my texts come from a different number?
Until your US number is registered for texting, texts go out from the shared Wrapstart number. See Set up texting and register your number.
#### Can more than one person answer calls?
Yes. Everyone on your team who can see Messages rings at once, and the first to answer takes the call.
#### Can I send a text to lots of customers at once?
Not from the Message Centre. Use an email campaign or an automation instead.
#### Can I change the voicemail greeting?
Not yet. Callers hear a standard greeting asking them to leave a message.
