Invoices, payments and expenses

Take card payments online (Stripe, Square or Clover)

Connect a card processor so customers can pay invoices and deposits online. The money goes to your own Stripe, Square or Clover account. Open Settings → Online Payments and pick the processor's tab.

Stripe

  1. Under Stripe Integration, turn on Enable Online Payments.
  2. Under Stripe Mode, choose Test Mode to try it out or Live Mode to take real payments.
  3. Paste your Publishable Key (starts with pk_) and your Restricted Key (starts with rk_). How to create your Restricted Key on the page lists the permissions it needs. Click Verify key to check it.
  4. Click Test Connection, then Save Settings.
Important

Use a restricted key, not your full secret key. If you paste a secret key, Wrapstart warns you: "This looks like a full secret key."

Square

  1. Turn on Enable Square Payments and choose Sandbox Mode or Production Mode.
  2. Paste your Application ID and Access Token, and enter your Location ID. Test Connection lists your locations.
  3. Click Save Settings.

Clover

  1. Turn on Enable Clover Payments.
  2. Enter your Merchant ID, Public Key and Private Token.
  3. Click Test Connection, then Save Settings.

More than one processor

If you turn on more than one, pick the one customers use under Preferred Payment Provider. It saves as soon as you click.

Card readers in the shop

To take cards in person, connect a reader on the same tab: Find readers for a Stripe reader, Generate pairing code for a Square Terminal, or Connect Clover terminal. Then use Card Terminal on an invoice or quote to charge it.

Know when you get paid

When a customer pays, you get a Payment Received notice (or Deposit Received for a deposit). Choose how you're told in Settings → Notifications. The Wrapstart phone app also sends a push with a cash-register sound.

Good to know

The processor's own fees apply to each payment. Customers can also pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe. Tips work with Stripe and Clover.
