← Back to the A2P 10DLC guide, step 07Privacy policy template — for your shop's website

Fields carry over between the guide and all three templates. Fill them, then Copy page HTML and paste it into a new page on your site at yourshop.com/privacy. Make sure this is the only privacy policy on your site — two policies with different sharing language is an automatic rejection. Link the page from your footer.

This is a template, not legal advice. It describes how a typical wrap, PPF, tint or detailing shop operates. Read every section and change anything that is not true for your shop — A2P reviewers reject policies that describe practices a business does not actually follow, and a policy you publish is a promise you are making to your customers. Amber notes mark the places most shops need to check; they are stripped from the copied HTML.

Privacy Policy

Last updated [Date]

This Privacy Policy explains how [Shop Name] (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit yourshop.com, contact us, request a quote, book an appointment, or have work done on your vehicle. Our shop is located at [Shop Address]. You can reach us at [Shop Email] or [Shop Phone].

1. Information we collect

  • Contact details — your name, phone number, email address and, where relevant, your mailing address.
  • Vehicle and job details — year, make, model, colour, VIN or licence plate, photos of the vehicle, the services you request, and notes about the work.
  • Communications — the content of emails, text messages, calls, form submissions and reviews you exchange with us, with dates and times.
  • Payment information — payments are processed by our payment processor. We receive the transaction amount, date and the last four digits of the card; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Website usage — pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and referring site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).
Delete anything you do not collect (e.g. VIN, photos) and add anything you do (e.g. driver's licence for loaner vehicles).

2. How we use information

  • To prepare quotes and estimates, schedule and perform the work, and deliver your vehicle.
  • To send confirmations, reminders, status updates, invoices, receipts and warranty information about your job.
  • To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
  • To process payments and keep the accounting records the law requires us to keep.
  • To ask for feedback or a review after your job is complete.
  • To protect our shop, staff and customers, and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Text messaging (SMS)

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We collect your mobile phone number and your consent to be texted when you provide them on our website forms, by phone, in person, or by texting START to [Shop Phone]. We use them only to send customer-care and transactional text messages about your quote, estimate, appointment, deposit, invoice, vehicle status, pickup, and warranty or service reminders. We do not share, sell, rent or provide your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data or SMS consent records to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes; the only exception is the messaging provider we use to transmit the message on our behalf. Message frequency varies; a typical customer receives 1–10 messages per job. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase. How we collect consent is described at SMS Consent & Messaging.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that help us run the shop — including Wrapstart, our business management and communication platform, which stores customer, vehicle, quote, booking and messaging records on our behalf; our payment processor; our messaging and email providers; and our accounting software. These providers may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Material and warranty providers — where the film, coating or wrap you purchased carries a manufacturer's warranty that must be registered in your name.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our shop, our customers or others.
  • Business transfers — if our shop is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

We never share your mobile phone number or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

5. How long we keep information

We keep customer, vehicle and job records for as long as your warranty is active and as long as tax and business record-keeping laws require, then delete or anonymise them. Message and consent records are kept for as long as needed to honour your preferences and demonstrate consent.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. We may use analytics tools such as Google Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect parts of the site.

If you run Meta or Google ad pixels, name them here. If you run no analytics at all, shorten this section.

7. Your choices

  • Text messages — reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
  • Email — use the unsubscribe link in any non-transactional email, or ask us.
  • Access, correction and deletion — you may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to records we must keep by law. Contact us at [Shop Email].

8. Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information, including access controls on the software we use. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Continued use of our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
